The macula which is the central part of the retina has the highest concentration of cones (light sensitive cells that interpret colour images) in the retina and plays a central role in processing detailed images.
Myopic Maculopathy can be treated with laser photocoagulation, photodynamic therapy (PDT) or intravitreal injections of appropriate anti-VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factors).
